My car may be considered a non-operational vehicle. What are the criteria for this?
If you vehicle cannot be loaded and unloaded on and off of the car carrier it is considered an in-op vehicle. If you have any questions regarding this topic please ask your shipping company prior to placing your order. As with everything there is always a gray area and it's a good idea not to leave anything to speculation.
I am buying this vehicle sight-unseen. Will your driver inspect the vehicle for me before loading it onto their truck?
Drivers are instructed to inspect all vehicles prior to loading them on their trucks. This is not to be mistaken with a pre-purchase inspection though. If you are buying a vehicle sight unseen, then it is recommended that you have it thoroughly inspected by a mechanic or other qualified party. Drivers are only expected to record any pre-existing damage that they could otherwise be held liable for.
Remove all loose or protruding items such as antennas, car covers, or anything that may get damaged during transport.
Remove any low-hanging spoilers, exhaust pipes, or body kits that may scrape during loading and unloading. Also, it is a good idea to place the stock wheels on your vehicle as opposed to after market tires and wheels as they are seldom covered by transport insurance. Make certain that all windows are sealed and all covers are securely fastened. On occasion drivers have to travel through in climate weather.
What preparations need to be made to my vehicle prior to transport?
Make certain that your vehicle's fluid levels are at their specified levels. In the event that the driver will be driving through cold weather this will help prevent freezing lines.
